Beginning Photography
This is a class about the basics of photography. It is designed to be a concise introduction to photography for new camera owners, along with being an enlightening refresher course for seasoned photographers and professionals.
In this class you will learn:
- How to use the manuel settings on your camera to properly expose a photo quickly and easily.
-What the aperture is and how to use it creatively.
-What shutter speeds to use for effect and how to prevent common mistakes.
-What your ISO means and how to keep from getting unwanted noise
-Basic composition rules that will improve your photos almost immediately.
-Fill Flash and how to put a sparkle in your subject's eyes!
Plus many other basic settings and rules that good photographers have to learn, sooner or later. We don't care about the type or make of your camera, just that you are able to use it on (M) Manual.
You will be expected to participate in weekly projects and assignments, and a final project and exam before recieving a Certificate of Completion.

Dear Ms. Russell,
I loved your class today! I always do. In spite of the fact that it's far for me. I am adoring the projects, and I profoundly appreciate your "frankness" about my boring two doors. I look forward to the next semester, and always, with a smile. I like your style.
Howard kills me! His knowledge on the specifics regarding cameras and lenses, how to make 'em work, makes the class so worth the distance.
Very best regards,
Jose Luis Beristain Larraza
